Convention in Milwaukee!
Every year the Freedom From Religion Foundation hosts a convention featuring speakers, symposia, music and more. Typically they travel around the country to different cities, with every third year held in Madison, close to the national headquarters. This year, Madison’s turn, they have wisely decided to hold it right here in Milwaukee! It’s still a essentially a “home game” for the staff, but much easier for people to attend from around the world.
Speakers this year include secular congressman Jared Huffman, blogger Kate Cohen, author Percival Everett and podcaster Jennifer Welch. Delivering the keynote closing speech will be none other than Ron Reagan, and Milwaukee’s own Peter Isely, priest abuse survivor and SNAP founder will receive an award.
More info can be found at ffrf.org, and while registration online is closed, tickets can be purchased at the door. The event is being held at the Baird Center October 15-18.
Come mingle with the local secular community, meet like-minded free-thinkers from around the globe, and help show off our fine city!
Go Brewers! See you there…
